Let’s talk about color.
A graphic designer will ask you what colors you would like to use in a logo and go from there. And while that is their job, a brand consultant will take a completely different approach to the color selection.

I will not ask you what colors you want to use but tell you what colors you need to use for your brand. If you have done any research on color psychology you have most likely come across a color wheel  like the one below.

I love the color wheel a a good starting point, however many companies in the same industry choose the same key feeling word and therefore end up with the same color as their competitors.

This color choosing mothod is why so many technology companies are blue, food brands are red, and feminine products are pink.

You will not be a standout brand using this method. Instead of focusing on what is expected in your industry I like to help my clients choose words that are unique to their business from any other in their industry and look at using those as in making the decision on colors.

Why red and purple? You may be asking yourself this after reading my explanation and looking at my own brand colors.

I will admit ironically red is my favorite color most days, (it changes every day), but not because of the color itself. I love it because of the power, boldness, and confidence it gives me. I am not afraid to stand out in a crowd or be the only one with a different opinion.

The purple tone is unique, creative and approachable which is what I wanted to pair with such a strong power color.

These are by no means complementary colors  on an ordinary wheel; (red and green), (purple and yellow), and yet they are my complimentary colors because they exhibit my brand perfectly.

There are so many hues and pairings out there, and there is a perfect one for your business too!

Take the leap with me and go on The Brand Adventure, a journey that transforms your business idea or struggling small business into a thriving brand.
